The Pan-African Association of Catholic Exegetes (PACE) is an organization which unites Catholic exegetes who are in Africa or outside and who are interested in the realization of its defined objectives. The origins of PACE can be traced back to a workshop Journéess Bibliques Africaines held in Kinshasa in 1978.

It was formally founded in Yaoundé (Cameroon) in 1987.

Statutes, approved in Yaoundé, swere revised and amended by the Plenarsy meeting at the Congress of Nairobi in 1995 as well as by the Plenary meeting at the Congress of Kinshasa in 2005.

To be a member of PACE one is required to hold a Master's degree in Biblical Studies or a doctorate in Biblical Theology, to subscribe to the association and to fulfil the required duties.

Among the present active members there are bishops, priests, monks, nuns and lay people.
